This sacred puja holds paramount importance as it seeks to harmonize the cosmic energies associated with a child's birth star, the Janana Nakshatra. Beyond its ritualistic grandeur, this ceremony's meticulous rituals hold the power to mitigate astrological doshas, safeguarding the child's life journey and fostering a future illuminated by auspiciousness.

The Sanskrit word Nakshatra means "that which does not decay". A Nakshatra is one of the 27 sectors of the great circle representing the annual path of the moon in the lunar planetary system of Hindu astrology, with each sector spanning precisely 13 degrees and 20 minutes. The position of the moon at the time of the child's birth determines their Janana Naskhatra.

Janana Nakshatra Shanti Havan should definitely be conducted if there are astrological afflictions or doshas associated with certain Nakshatras in a person's birth chart to mitigate their negative effects. Some people also choose to perform this havan to amplify the favorable attributes linked with their birth Nakshatra, all while pursuing holistic well-being and triumph.

If dosham is associated with the child's birth nakshatra, the Janana Nakshatra Shanti Havan should be conducted within 27 days of the child's birth. It is recommended to conduct the havan within 3 months for normal nakshatras. The Pujaris select a date that is compatible with the Janma Nakshatra of the child and falls on an auspicious thithi and yoga.
